Re: PSA ;-)

Every single offer I have received has involved my giving up future draft picks. I just want every owner (who looks at the league forum) to be aware that pretty much ANY offer that requires me to give up a future 1st-2nd-3rd, will be rejected out of hand.

Firstly, being new, I am still learning about this sim, and I do not even know if I will play long-term, and therefore I have no wish to harm this franchise by giving up future picks that would make it harder for a new owner to want to take over the franchise, much less compete.

Secondly, I have no interest in giving up draft picks, in exchange for ****.

I understand some owners have little to no clue how to propose fair trade offers and only have the goal of trade "rape" in mind. So I am in no way offended or bothered by any bad trade offers I get (I would say not a week goes by in my dynasty football leagues without my getting a trade where I give up a Julio Jones type player for a 3rd string TE lol) - I simply would prefer it if owners did not waste their time. I am not going to accidentally hit accept. ;-)

Anyways if an owner sees a player on my roster they like - feel free to make an offer - just save yourself the trouble, and do not include a request for my 2018/19/20 1st/2nd/3rd etc because it will get you no where. Cheers!

I think one of the issues is that some owners see a new owner join the league and jump all over them with offers instead of giving them the chance to observe, read and learn the game.

I am not pointing fingers at anyone either so if anyone feels that I am then look in a mirror..lol.

I honestly rarely send trade offers out, most of my trades are the result of another owner sending me offers and accepting, rejecting or counter.

I've adopted a few teams and it's tuff. You find yourself with team that has very few stars and many weaknesses. And the good players you have 10+ year vets. So using draft picks to rebuild is just a push, as you'll be losing good players as fast as you can draft them.

The only asset you really have is your draft picks. You can improve a little with a free agent here and there, but not by much. Your options are very limited.

In my opinion, the salary cap is not working. As I've seen many teams with 4 or 5 super star WRs, 3 star RBs, OLs that are two deep with 70+ players at every position. And these teams have plenty of room under the cap.

The cap is to easily manipulated, If you have a young player you want to lock up all you need to do is offer him a 6 year deal at 75% bonus and then lower the salary amount until you can find what that players minimal bonus he will accept. You can save millions sometimes doing this. The way to fix this is to have a players with a higher regular salary minimum and bonus.

I believe I read that testing is underway in MFL1 to balance this out. Which is probably the best way. Willy nilly changes would do more harm than good. Once the correct adjustments are found and implemented it'll still probably take a couple of seasons before we see the effect.

But I think we will see this area of the game improved sooner rather than later.

That's really the perfect attitude to take as a new player, and I hope we can keep you here long-term!

And shame on any of y'all trying to job the new players, haha.
