as the title of the thread says Dallas Cowboys got their 7th loss of the season and 2nd loss in a row in their 16th game of the season against the Detroit Lions by score of 33-20.

box score = http://mfn8.myfootballnow.com/box/2307
game log = http://mfn8.myfootballnow.com/log/2307

reporter = Coach Robert Jensen some quick questions .
Jensen = yes

reporter = knowing you lost to Detroit Lions by 13 points what do you have to say about that??
Jensen = disappointed we couldn't beat them to at least give ourselves a chance at the playoffs where we are now ELIMINATED from the playoffs for the 7th straight season in a row. Though do have to say this season we came the closest to doing it.

reporter = lets talk about the New York Giants who beat the Philadelphia Eagles 22-19 which clinched them a another playoff spot for the 4th season in a row what do you make of that??
Jensen = Goes to show you that the Giants are a very determined bunch to make the playoffs year in and year out and that they have the longest streak of making the playoffs and most times going to the playoffs over the other 3 teams in the division.

reporter = lets talk about the Philadelphia Eagles who lost to New York Giants by the score 22-19 which puts them on a 13 game losing streak to end the season what do you make of that??
Jensen = I have to say they are glad to have their season over and they probably hope they can do better next season.

reporter = lets talk about the Washington Redskins who beat Green Bay Packers 59-7 and virtue of their win over the Packers have now won 14 games in a row what do you have to say about that??
Jensen = what I have to say is they are the TEAM to beat in the National Conference unless a team can beat them when it comes to their playoff game or playoff games.

reporter = Knowing that New York Giants won their game , Minnesota Vikings lost their game and you lost to the Detroit Lions which by having 2 of the 3 teams you needed to lose win their game by virtue of that you got eliminated for the last wildcard spot what do you have to say about that??
Jensen = Really the odds of 3 teams losing all at once was too much for us to overcome and hopefully we will not have the same issue next season.

reporter = Knowing that you lost 3 games where if you had scored a Touchdown to win which were 2nd week 24-21 in favor of the Giants , 5th week 29-23 in favor of the Vikings and 15th week 12-6 in favor of the Raiders would you say if you had won those games you would be in the playoffs and what improvement will you have to make for next season so you wont get beat in close games??
Jensen = It is any one's guess if we had won those games that we would be in the playoffs though I think if we had it would helped because really you could go to the other 2 teams that didn't make the playoffs Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings and say the same thing if they had some close games they lost and if they had won those they would be in the playoffs. I would say we need probably 3 things from either the draft or free agency 1. a running back that can give us a 1,000 yard season rushing , 2. a defender that can help our defense and 3. a player who can play on special teams like a Devin Hester/Dexter Carter/Tim Dwight/etc. Type that can affect games and help us turn those close games into wins instead of losses.

reporter = Are you going to make predictions for the Wildcard games??
Jensen = I plan on doing that probably tomorrow unless I decide otherwise to put my predictions out there and people can compare how well or how bad I did.

reporter = one last question out of all 16 games which game really surprised you??
Jensen = Have to go back to the Washington Redskins and Green Bay Packers game that was 59-7 in favor the Redskins who won by a 52 point winning margin. I have to say Washington really made a statement in their last game of the regular season which I have to say the other teams that made the playoffs have to look at that game and wonder how they can even stay in the game with them and even beat them when they go off like that scoring wise.

Jensen = is walking off the stage dejected and hoping he will be able to finish his contract.
reporters = are actually running around and cheering that the Cowboys quite didn't make it this year which they hope was the nail in the coffin for coach Robert Jensen.
owner = is by himself that it seemed like it was a fore conclusion that the cowboys would make it to the playoffs this year without a doubt.
fans = are crying and screaming on top of their lungs that the Cowboys broke their hearts YET again for the playoffs.
Players = are packing up their stuff from the lockers and hoping no one retires that everyone returns so much so that they hope this Cowboys team is the only one that returns in tact that all the other 15 teams in the conference have to replace players either be 1 or 20 so they can maybe actually be the TEAM to beat next season and actually use this season as a springboard to making the playoffs.
