Robert Jensen's Conference Championship Round picks for the Conference Championship Round games

as the title of the thread says Robert Jensen of Dallas Cowboys fame will pick the conference Championship round winners

As it stands now the conference Championship round games are :

American Conference
New England Patriots at Denver Broncos

National Conference
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Washington Redskins

With that out of the way lets see if they have played each other before or not.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn't face Washington Redskins at all during the season.

Denver Broncos faced New England Patriots in the 6th week of the season.
here is that game = http://mfn8.myfootballnow.com/log/2147 and http://mfn8.myfootballnow.com/box/2147
New England Patriots won 24-14

Now for the picks

reporter = knowing you picked 3 of the right winners again which gives you a 6-2 record do you think you will get the last 3 picks right the winners of the conference games and the league game??
Jensen = I am totally speechless that I am 6-2 on picking the winners for each round so far which I could end up at 6-5 or maybe 9-2 which either way is way better than I thought I would do on picking the winners which I might have to do this more often.

reporter = lets start with Denver Broncos against New England Patriots who do you think will win that matchup??
Jensen = I am totally excited about this matchup which has the number 1 team in points scored (New England) against the number 1 in fewest points scored (Denver) . Also you have a team like Denver who has been the league champ 2 times and a conference champ 4 times awhile you have a team like New England that has won their division 6 seasons in a row though they have lost to Denver 6 0ut of 7 seasons they have faced Denver.
So with all that said I am going with New England to break thru that Denver Domination they have had on New England because really it has to end sooner or later so I say it will be sooner than later.
anyway the pick is New England 62 - 33 Denver .
Only way I see Denver winning is they have to keep the game low scoring or else they will be run out of the building by New England because they are the one team you can ill afford to get in a shootout with.
So their defense is going to have to come to play and play outside of themselves to pull it off and I really don't see that happening .

reporter = now lets go to Tampa Bay Buccaneers against Washington Redskins who do you think will win that matchup??
Jensen = knowing that either team faced either I will have to WING it here .
With that said I am picking Tampa Bay to win this game because really Washington only beat Carolina by 2 points (20-18) and I saw a gassed team in Washington doing that so I think they are primed to be upset by Tampa Bay.
I say the game will be like 7-6 in favor of Tampa Bay.
Only way I see Washington pulling this out is that Tampa Bay's defense doesn't come to play , that Tampa Bay's offense doesn't score points when they are in the end zone and the Tampa Bay's special teams gives their offense terrible field position.

Reporter = So here is those picks again in case someone missed Robert Jensen's picks
New England 62 - 33 Denver
Tampa Bay 7 - 6 Washington

Reporter = a quick question Robert Jensen before we go would you take that Carolina Panthers head coaching job knowing they lost by only 2 points to the best team in the national conference and knowing they lost by only that much what does that say about Carolina or Washington ??
Jensen = I would take that job because really their the 2nd team that disappointed me in the picks yet they were so close to beating a top notch team in Washington that is way better than Pittsburgh which you wonder if it says that Pittsburgh is better than Washington or that both Pittsburgh and Washington just had a bad game in their 1st game in the playoffs.
Knowing that Carolina was so close to beating Washington I would say that Carolina really doesn't have to do something drastic to reach that next level just keep doing what they are doing and they will make it because you wouldn't want to change something then never be able to go back the playoffs for a decade.
Knowing that Washington was so close to losing that game to Carolina all that can be said is they need to really FOCUS on their opponent and not look ahead to the next opponent or else they might really kick themselves especially if it costs them in their conference game or even the league game regardless if I am picking them or picking against them.
