Robert Jensen's Divisional picks for the Divisional games

By punisher

as the title of the thread says Robert Jensen of Dallas Cowboys fame will pick the Division Round winners

As it stands now the Division games are :

American Conference
Denver Broncos at Miami Dolphins
New Jersey Jets at San Diego Chargers

National Conference
Minnesota Vikings at Washington Redskins
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Detroit Lions

With that out of the way lets see if they have played each other before or not.

Denver Broncos didn't face Miami Dolphins at all during the season
Minnesota Vikings didn't face Washington Redskins at all during the season.
New Jersey Jets didn't face San Diego Chargers at all during the season.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers didn't face Detroit Lions at all during the season.

Now for the picks

reporter = knowing you picked 4 of the right winners which has you doing better already this season than last season which you went 3-1 on wildcard winners do you think you can keep it up??
Jensen = Really hope so. it would be nice to better than 7-4 which I was last season on playoff picks

reporter = lets start with New Jersey Jets who won their wildcard round game 58-14 which comes out to a 44 point winning margin against San Diego Chargers who had a BYE who do you think will win that matchup??
Jensen = I would have to go with New Jersey Jets in that they totally smashed their opponent and really they shouldn't have any rust at all in their game .
Only way I could see San Diego Chargers winning is if they keep the game very low scoring or at least not let the Jets score in bunches like they did against the Steelers.
Score will be 56-7

reporter = now lets go to Denver Broncos who won their wildcard round game 51-12 which comes out to a 39 point winning margin against Miami Dolphins who had a BYE who do you think will win that matchup??
Jensen = I would have to go with Denver Broncos in that like the Jets they demolished their opponent and really this is like the 2nd straight season these 2 teams are facing each other in the division round ( https://mfn8.myfootballnow.com/forums/thread/1/384?page=1#736 ) which btw Denver won that game , turned around and lost the conference game so I would think they want to make it all the way to the title game this year.
Only way I could see Miami Dolphins winning is if Denver hasn't recovered from the Conference game lost to New England though of course Miami might surprise all of us in that they want to make up for that loss to Denver in the Division round.
Score will be 49-7

reporter = now lets go to Minnesota Vikings who won their wildcard round game 32-9 which comes out to a 23 point winning margin against Washington Redskins who had a BYE who do you think will win that matchup??
Jensen = I would have to go with Washington Redskins in that they are the defending champion and until they lose I would be stupid not to pick them in their games.
Only way I could see Minnesota Vikings winning is if the Washington Redskins are in the Super Bowl blues of just going thru the motions of winning last season and not having the appeatite to try to win it this season.
Score will be 21-14

reporter = now lets go to Tampa Bay Buccaneers who won their wildcard round game 30-17 which comes out to a 13 point winning margin against Detroit Lions who had a BYE who do you think will win that matchup??
Jensen = I would have to go with the Detroit Lions in that Tampa Bay had to face Carolina Panthers 3rd times during this season and you have to imagine that Carolina might have wore down Tampa Bay where the next team to face them could beat them.
Only way I could see Tampa Bay Buccaneers is that they want to finish the job this season in that they lost to Washington Redskins in the conference championship game which in turn Washington Redskins went on to win the whole thing last season
Score will be 3-0

Reporter = So here is those picks again in case someone missed Robert Jensen's picks

Denver 49 -7 Miami
Detroit 3 - 0 Tampa Bay
New Jersey 56 - 7 San Diego
Washington 21 - 14 Minnesota
