Thank you for your well thought out, reasoned & considerate response. I certainly could have worded what I said better, but unfortunately in the end it would not change what I currently believe.
I will certainly agree that owners like yourself put in plenty of effort, and I should in no way disparage that, so for that I do apologize, but at the same time I do feel that the win here is sort of pointless. Obviously not every team can be good - and there will always be stronger owners & teams - but the difference here between the best teams and the weak ones is wider than the gulf of mexico and that is obvious in the scoring & standings.
I have no plans to quit - and maybe I will feel differently in 2 seasons when I become the 10-6 Seattle - but again Seattle lost 72-13. If there is that much difference between playoff teams, what challenge is it truly to win the majority of games by scores of 80-20 and then romp through the playoffs as well. Ah well there is still merit in doing a hopeless task. ;-)
I have played sports on both dominant and average teams, and I can say with 100% conviction that the team that I won a championship with after starting off 0-4, and won the title in overtime 3-2 was a lot more rewarding than the season I was on a team that dominated (went undefeated) and then won the championship 6-2 (although yes every championship is enjoyable as winning is always more fun than losing).
In the end I truly wish there was some means to level the playing field more - WITHOUT taking away any of the hard earned efforts of owners like yourself - but I just do not see it happening any time soon. It would be different if this was a best of 3/5 or best of 7 and say Chicago beat you 4 games to 2. But when the majority of games are lopsided affairs it is very hard to take the legitimacy of the title seriously.
I will also say that if you win, your team definitely had the harder road through the playoffs. You did beat SD after losing 2 games in the season, and that alone is a worthy accomplishment.
