Re: National Conference Championship Game

I am Chicago. Most of you know this team from last year. HOWEVER, I took over the team in the middle of the off season right after the draft/allocations or what ever it is. I don't know what the coming new year will bring... because I have never done one. I am an old guy but a rookie in this league. I am not sure what happened last year. I am not sure who won.
I know you all know me because many of you have rejected my trade offers. Rejection is not a problem for me. I don't take it personally. I cannot make a real bad trade offer because the "Bar" won't let you. I like that we have a bar for that reason. Meanwhile, I have offered trades to all and some were accepted. My team is over the cap for next year. I will stay in the league. I am not sure what the penalty for cap issues will be. I, again, am a rookie.
Meanwhile, I traded to win this one. Giving up some cheap guys for expensive guys. AND I will suffer next year for that management mindset. I don't think I have the best team. But, I think, because I am not using the game planning, I can do better than earlier. I now put in pass blockers on pass plays and run blockers on run plays. I am learning how to play here. Sometimes a 78/79 players is worth more than a 82/81 player. Salary, bonus, age, health, speed, pass blocking... ALL come into play. Yes I have offered an 82 for a 78... and I have offered a 80 plus a pick for a 90. I look at other teams and try to see if they are wanting to build (as I will next year) or play for now. A future owner and a NOW owner sure can make for an interesting trade. That said... Next year, I will continue to offer trades. Always counter to me if you will. I enjoy that part of fantasy teams. I have played fantasy games for 25 years. I ALWAYS offer trades even the night of the draft....lol. I am KNOWN for this. Some are to my advantage and some are not. Please don't be harsh on those that trade... only on those that don't enjoy the full extent of this sim game. My first sim game. My first league. I want only to be part of a good league and am not upset for those that are more passive with their team. Active or not,,,,enjoy and let all enjoy in their own way. By the way, My name is really John Wayne and I hope no one is offended by anything I do.

A belated welcome to MFN.

As you've probably discovered, this game has some issues, but overall the enjoyment outweighs the frustrations (at least for me).

Speaking of trades, you may have a lot of dealing that needs to be done during the off-season to get below the cap. I'm interested to see what you can (or have to) do.

Good luck.

YES YES.. I have 110 in cap on cap...lol
I mad a few bad trades before I knew what I was doing. I traded someone with a 5 yr contract with 5.5 million BONUS EACH YEAR..... About 30 million in a guy that I moved and got less back. SO,, yes yes, in the off season I gotta move a lot of players....good ones too.

SO... keep in touch.

You can just shuffle them all over to Minnesota, we have plenty of cap space. Just a friendly offer from one of your conference mates! ;P
